I highly recommend this book, it's a collection of patterns for knitters of all skills.I use it all the time. This is a great book for a last minute, cute little birthday present as well as a small project to learn a new stitch or technique. We all have them, a single ball of yarn left over from something else we've made or a skein of yarn that was really expensive but we just had to have it because of its color or the the way it felt when you had it in your hand. This book of patterns has everything from silly hats to amulet bags to scarves,and a pattern for every kind of yarn.
There are many errors, some minor, but many are critical. But the buyer must be warned, with all the one skein wonder books, it is necessary to check the publishers website to obtain corrections. This book contains a good selection of projects to be made from one skein of yarn. There are ideas for gifts for all ages.
(One tip about the bathmat - the cone of cotton is available at Wal-Mart for less than $8)This book is definitley a worthwhile purchase with a wide variety of styles for a wide variety of yarns. I was a bit skeptical at first, but have already made three unique items from the book and have tagged several more to attack in the next few months. You can get started the minute the book arrives. If you're like me, you probably have a few loose skeins in your closet just waiting to be knitte up. One word of caution - buy two skeins. I know it's called "One-Skein Wonders", but on the Woven Scarf and the bathmat I ran out of yarn and had to move on to a second skein/cone.
Most of the skeins they are using are 1,000 yard long skeins. The patterns are nice, and relatively easy to follow, however, the title of one-skein wonders.
Delivery was prompt and accurate., This is a very interesting book. I will make many of the patterns.
